Priority and Agenda Setting: this is the system by which students select final project.
Final Projects Selection Process: In the past, students tried to get as much feedback from community members as possible during data collection about the health problems affecting the community. Then, they used that feedback to go through the P & A process and chose a topic. They, then, went through the process again to choose an intervention. Last semester, we had students bring the top 3 results from the priority and agenda setting process to the communities to get feedback from the headperson and the village health volunteers. They, then, did the intervention that the community chose.
This semester, we are planning a similar process, but with community feedback sooner.
--Students will use the P&A process to choose the 3 most important health-related topics they found in the community.
--They will make a list of the top 3 problems they found in each community.
--Divide into groups.
--On 10/31- each group will go to all 3 communities and review their list of problems for feedback from the community to pick final research project topics.
--They will also go to the community to review the ideas the top 3 ideas for interventions that come out of P&A setting.
