Written Community Data Summaries:
At the conclusion of each community visit, students are expected to produce written data, research instruments, and evidence of their group’s data analyses. They must turn in their research instruments and present their work to faculty and peers in
written and oral form. Each student works within her/his group to produce
a written summary of the group’s work. Overall, the written summary should resemble a
journal article in its format (as they are writing about primary data that they collected). All of the groups' summaries come from different types of data
collected with different data collection tools, so they need to adapt the
different categories listed in the rubric to fit the situation.

Community Data Presentations: Each student presents his/her group’s work at least once during the course. They are also expected to turn in a printed version of the presentation.

Field Practice/Participation and Unit Facilitation: This is the most complicated part of the grading for this course. The first files gives an overview of how the grade is determined.
Half of the grade (15% of total grade): Overall Student Participation From student and Ajaan feedback Other half of grade (15% of total grade): CPH Fac Performance 50% from Ajaan Toon 25% Intragroup Assessment 25% Student Group (as a whole) In order to demonstrate research effectiveness, students use the instruments they design in class to gather data in three different communities. This data collection informs the selection of final projects for the practicum at the end of the semester. For unit facilitation, students work in groups to plan and facilitate educational activities that occur during their assigned unit. These activities include lectures, community visits, briefings, debriefings, presentations/summaries, and other scheduled activities. The broad goal of the student facilitators are to plan and direct activities in order to meet the student group’s educational goals and to help the student group to work smoothly together. **One change from last semester: Ajaan Toon is planning to run the workshops as more of a consultative space than a structured workshop. As a result, CPH U'facs may have less involvement in designing workshops. |

Final Exam: We are changing the format of the final exam. It will now be done in the classroom. It will be a mix of multiple choice, essay, fill-in-the-blank, etc. questions (whereas it used to be take-home, essay questions). Students will be tested on content from lectures and readings. Ajaan Toon will create this exam.
